Boys Showcase NCAA Coach Coordinator

Hamilton College

Scott Barnard is in his seventh year as the head men's lacrosse coach at Hamilton College. Barnard led the Continentals into their first season in the NESCAC last year, and Hamilton finished with an overall record of 9-6, including 5-5 in the conference.

The Continentals won eight of their last nine games, defeated two ranked teams and qualified for the 2012 NESCAC Championship quarterfinals. Seven student-athletes made the 2012 NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team. Hamilton is 30-13 the last three years under Barnard.

We surveyed the coaches who attended the 2012 Showcase.  The results speak for themselves:
  • 80% of the coaches surveyed said they "will definitely be back next year."    All others said they "will very likely return next year."
  • 100% of the coaches stated the players had an adequate opportunity to be recognized by the coaches.
  • Coaches rated the "overall experience for a player" as a 4.8 of 5.0
  • Coaches rated their "overall experience for them as a coach" as 4.9 of 5.0
  • Coaches rated the "overall organization of the showcase" as a 5.0 out of 5.0
"Also, would be nice to see players from areas that don't have events like this i.e Seattle, Portland, Boise, Las Vegas, Reno, Albuquerque, Salt Lake City etc."

SUNY Cortland

Kathy Taylor completed her fifth season as Cortland's women's lacrosse head coach in 2013.  In her five seasons, she led Cortland to a combined 93-16 record (85%), five State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) tournament titles and five NCAA Div. III tournament appearances.

She has earned IWLCA Empire Region Coach of the Year honors 3 times, ECAC Upstate New York Coach of the Year and the SUNYAC Coach of the Year honors for her efforts.  In 2012 her team went 20-2 and in 2013 her team went 21-2, both times making it to the NCAA Div III semifinals. She has also coached the North squad to a victory at the IWLCA North-South Senior All-Star Game.
